BIO
My name is Taylor Dziekciasz and I am a 17 year old that has been head over heels for horses ever since I can remember. My main horse I ride is a small bay roan named Riley who is 7 years old. I have been running barrels for about 5 years now but have only been a team with her for 1. I currently show in the 4H Program but avidly go to Penn Ohio and IBRA shows when I can. This past 2016 show season Riley and I earned the title of State Champion at the PA State Horse Show in Barrels, Poles, and Cutback. I also earned a state title in 2014 with my older mare, Lady, who won me Poles and placed high in our other events. In showing Penn Ohio I normally run in the 2D but every so often my ponies pull me some 1D checks.
I have been blessed to grown up with some really great horses but they all have had their fair share of quirks that have helped me to be the rider I am today. Having horses is truly a hobby that teaches you more life lessons than you would expect. One person that I look up to as a role model regarding barrel racing is none other than Fallon Taylor. Her drive and willingness to do what she believes in for the promotion of a good cause is truly inspiring to me. With her bold personality and even bolder style she proves that standing out of the crowd isn’t a bad thing and that usually the one on top isn’t your average person. Growing as a rider I have always looked up to her and she has kept me motivated and driven to become the rider I am and also still strive to be. As I am in my senior year of HS I plan to attend Penn State and major in Environmental Engineering in the fall of 2017. Even with a busy schedule I will be sure to be at a barrel race every weekend enjoying some fast ponies and great friends!
