Hi, I’m Savanah Barnard! I’ve had a tough go with my horses. You name a problem with horses and I’ve probably had it. I’ve been bucked, dragged, ran over, and fell on. But, I’ve never given up on this crazy dream they call rodeo!! I didn’t start riding until the age of 16, but I’ve worked hours upon hours in the arena to get where I am today. My family doesn’t have all the money in the world to buy me finished 1D barrel horses. So I’ve learned to make due with what I have, I’ve only been riding two years and yet I’ve trained over 10 horses on the barrel pattern so far and all are excelling in the arena. Some just kid broke 5D barrel horses and some out there making 1D barrel horses. I don’t have many accomplishments since I’ve only been rodeoing if for two years, but I have made top 5 barrel racers at lonestar high school rodeo association in 2015 and this year I’m in the running for all around cowgirl in winners youth rodeo!! Top 10 in barrel racing and top 5 in pope bending. This rodeo season isn’t over yet and I’m fighting through with confidence getting points by points slowly but surely moving up and hopefully to make #1 this year! My career in barrel racing has now influenced me to become an equine vet so now I can spend each and every day of my future working with what I love most!
