I’m a junior in high school who enjoys rodeo with my Appaloosa mare Righteous. We also enjoy cow sorting. I am in class to become a veterinary assistant, I plan to go to college for equine veterinary medicine. My horses are my life! I also have a 5 year old gelding that will be running this summer, and I’m beyond excited for him to start doing what he was born and bred to do!

BIO
My name is Sarah Mathews, and I am from a small town in Pennsylvania called Beaver. I was born March 2nd, 2000. I have been riding over half of my life now, about 9 years. I have started competing in barrels and poles in 2014 when I was gifted my very own horse for my 14th birthday. Her name is “Righteous Blue Skip”, she is a 2003 14 year old Appaloosa mare. I started Righteous on barrels myself and she has become a nice horse for me. I couldn’t have asked for a better first horse, she’s not only my teammate, she’s my best friend! I also have a 2012 quarter horse gelding that will be running barrels this year and I am very excited. While we do multiple shows and rodeos, we have ran Penn Ohio races, and most commonly our youth rodeo in Lisbon Ohio. My first year ever in rodeo, Righteous and I took top 10 in goat tying against tough competition, as well as placed in the youth 2D barrels at one of hoppels Friday night arena lights shows.
