All my life I have grown up around horses. My grandmother always would put me on our palomino mare at age 3 and let me sit on her bareback. Now I have my own horse, my heart horse, that is and my dream has always been to run and compete in barrels which we have successfully done. Johnny Cash, aka Cash, my horse, was rescued last year after my mother passed away from overdosing. Not only was that a hard time but it was a blessed time as well. Cash has picked me up and has brought me to a happiness level I never knew was possible for me.
Cash and I started barrels a few months after I rescued him and has improved and surprised me so much. We compete monthly sometimes more. And practice daily. We haven’t won any awards or money yet, but Im not too worried about that. I actually want to create a riding stable for troubled kids and recovering addicts one day with money I win and call it “Ride For Rehab”. Horses changed my life. And I want to give others that chance.
