BIO

My name is Renee Smith. Born and raised with horses my whole life. My great grandmother owned a QH race horse farm. It’s been in the family ever since and I wouldn’t want it any other way. I find my inspiration in Mary Burger for all the challenges she has faced on her journey, she’s an incredible woman. I also look up to my adopted mom for pushing me, encouraging me to be my best, and for standing in the freezing cold late at night to watch me compete.
My proudest moment is the night I won my first belt buckle. I was so determined that I’d win one and I actually did. No one really thought I would, I had just got my gelding, Diogie, and him and I weren’t really clicking with each other yet. He had a little bucking problem when he didn’t want to work anymore and I had to self train him the barrel pattern. It wasn’t easy but we did it, and that is the proudest feeling of all. Now I can ride him without any tack at all. My goal isn’t to be the best out there, although that would be nice, my goal is to inspire people to never give up no matter how difficult something may seem at the time. Just keep pushing forward.
