My name is Raven Ireland, I am 15 years old, I live in a small town called Thomaston in Connecticut. I have been riding horses since I was 5 years old. I started out Enligsh and did jumping for a couple years, although I knew it wasn’t for me. I wanted speed and adrenaline, so I started barrels. I have been barrel racing ever since and was very blessed with my old horse Reno, he was a great horse for me to learn barrels on. I rode him for many years and then leased for 4 months and was lucky enough to be given him after our barn trainer left and there was no need for lesson horses! I owned him for two years up until his retirement. When he retired, I got my current horse, Shooter. Shooter is a big difference from Reno but I was and am ready for it. I am very excited to start my career with Shooter, With Reno I won 7 buckles, one set of stirrups, a jacket, a halter, 2 wild cards, a tack set and qualified for NBHA youth worlds 3 times. I was very lucky to have had the experiences that I had with him and I am looking forward to having many more experiences and memories with Shooter and more horses to come!
