BIO
“Hello Lakota Fan,
My name is Payton Bergin, and I am an 18 year old aspiring rodeo queen from rural Alaska. I was born in Colorado and consider my upbringing considerably different than many that are as involved as I am in the horse world. I have lived in many midwestern states, and the middle east, all before my family settled in Alaska. It was in this great state that I was able to pursue my passion for horsemanship. With the inspiration of my trainer and the unique challenges that the western lifestyle poses in the far north, I was able to find a niche that I felt like a miracle.
My palomino AQHA gelding Gunnar is one of my three horses. He is Skipper W linebred, by a Canadian champion reiner, western pleasure and halter horse. It is my amazing mount that inspired in me the desire to be the face of rodeo as Teen Miss Rodeo Alaska. The opportunity of this title presented itself when I was only a middle schooler, but it has set alight my desire to represent the sport of rodeo and the western lifestyle-right down to my horses- unlike anything else. I hope that on your journey to be the best horseman you can be you may find such inspiration and drive as this.
Thank you!”
