BIO
My name is Makenna Batchelder. I’m 15 years old and am a sophomore attending Bishop Union High School. I joined CHSRA in 8th grade and have enjoyed every second of it since then. I compete in barrel racing, pole bending, breakaway roping, and team roping. Out of those events I would say pole bending and team roping are my favorites, but I like them all. I won 1st place District 9 Jr. High team roping header, Reserve Champion District 9 High School pole bender, 4th place District 9 barrel racer, 3rd place District 9 breakaway roper, and placed 6th overall at the 2016 CHSRA state finals rodeo in pole bending. I also qualified for the 2016 CHSRA Challenge of Champions in pole bending and qualified for the 2016 CHSRA state finals in breakaway roping, barrel racing, and pole bending. This year my goal is to make it back to the state finals in pole bending and qualify for the NHSRA finals. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the support of my family and friends who have constantly supported me and my dreams.
