My name is Katie Spears, I am from a small town called Sumner, Georgia. I have been riding horses since I was 4 years old, and I am now 18. I have been competing for about 10 years: it’s something I can’t get enough of. I buy, sell and pattern horses and barrel race on the weekend. I compete on my 12 year old thoroughbred, Play and Pray, “Playboy”. I mostly run NBHA (National Barrel Horse Association) and have qualified 3 years for NBHA Open World Championships and NBHA Youth World Championships, won the 2016 Southern States Triple Crown Youth 4D and have competed in many other supershows. My role model is Sarah Rose McDonald, she is the sweetest most down to earth person and the determination she has to win is something I strive to have.
