BIO
My name is Katie Hogue and I am from a small town called Malin, Oregon-right off of the Oregon/California border. I am 15 years old. I started riding when I was 5, fell in love and have been riding ever since. I have been competing competitively on and off for 9 years. I showed for 6 years until I took time off to train 4 year old colts. In 2014 I was introduced to barrel racing which then I quickly realized that it was my passion. I then bought an appendix buckskin gelding named Quinn which I spent a year training and patterning on barrels and poles. Now I am participating in barrel races and occasionally rodeos. Some of the awards I take pride in is wining AMHA high point rider and High point youth for OPHC, receiving multiple belt buckles and receiving my very first check placing 1st in the 2D at a local barrel race which I still remember the feeling of when I realized hard work pays off in the end. One of my goals is to be high point youth at my local barrel, and setting a good example for the young kids. My horse Quinn has a heart and personality of gold, which I believe he is a once in a lifetime horse for me.
