I am Kara benavidez I live in Saugus California. I didn’t grow up in a rodeo atmosphere, my family did the traditional sports like soccer or softball or football. I grew up going to Nebraska during the summer to ride and that’s how it all started. 10 years old I got on a horse and it’s been a roller coaster ever since. About a year ago I bought my main horse dash trained him as a 6 year old and it’s been a blast. I did gykhanas at first placed top 5 in the 3D in one of them and then got reserve champion in the 1D. I HS rodeo in district 9, it is a rookie year I’ve had some troubles but it’s helping me grow as an athlete and that’s what I want. I rodeo and go to jackpots and I am still able to keep a 3.5 gpa as well as a job. I am not afraid of hard work.
