My name is Jacob Raines I’m 16 years old and I’m from a little town called Harrod Ohio. Ever since I could remember I was begging my parents to buy me a horse. The Christmas of 2008 they finally gave in and bought me my first horse. I started competitively running in 2012 on a 10 year old paint named Rebel. If I had to say one horse that made me the rider I am today it would that horse. This year I decided it was time to move up to something that was better bred and faster so i bought a 3 year old granddaughter of Dash For Perks. I bought her started and i will finish her out myself.
My accomplishment i am most proud of is going to state 2 years in a row and being in the top 15 in all my classes both years. The role models i look up to the most are Troy Crumrine and Jud Little. I look up to troy because he came from the same area i am from and used to run in the same county im in and now he is close to the richest man in barrel racing. Jus little single handily built the most iconic brand in the barrel racing industy. I understand it take hard work to be the best and when i get older i want to work that hard to have a brand that big if not bigger.
