BIO
My name is Hayley Hillman and from the time I could say the word horse, I have always wanted one of my own. When I was 9 years old, I got my first horse, Zeus, for Christmas. I joined 4H and the Acadiana Youth Rodeo Association and began showing in various events. As my confidence in the saddle grew, my parents could see that it was time to step up to a new horse. In 2016, Hickory Dual Doc “Cadillac”, came into my life, and I began my first year of Junior High Rodeo. Cadillac and I were perfect matches for each other and from then on we began to excel in barrels and poles. I still have Zeus and use him for goat tying. My awards in 2017 are as follows: Lafayette Parish 4H 13&U Pole Bending Champion and Premier Exhibitor winner, Acadiana District 4H 13&U Pole Bending Champion and winner of the Robin Baudoin Award (given to the rider with the fastest combined times in barrels and poles), Louisiana State 4H 13&U Barrel Racing Champion, and qualified for 4H Regionals in Perry, GA. In AYRA, I finished the year in the top 5 in barrels, poles, and goat tying, earning a top 3 buckle in goat tying. My goals for the coming year in Junior High Rodeo are to qualify for state in at least one of my 3 events barrels, poles, or goat tying. Over the past year, our family has enjoyed traveling to rodeos in our 15ft living quarters Lakota. Rodeo life is so much better with our Lakota!
