Hello, my name is Hayden Williams and I am a 13 year old equestrian trying to achieve her dreams. I have been riding for as long as I can remember, I guess you could say that I was “born in the saddle”. Most people think that I only barrel race, but that is not true. I also do cutting, boxing, a couple showmanship classes, show market goats and I rope. I am in two 4-h groups this year and this is my fifth year in 4-h. I am also a part of the Richland County Youth Horse Judging team. I own six horses, but I currently show three. Those four horses are Mindis So Classy, Doc Highbrow and Waitin On Bail.
I believe in always being a better person, or rider, than I was the day before. My goal is to always better myself by at least 1% every day, so that after one year, I can look back and see how much I have accomplished. Last year, that helped me and I proved to myself that it works. I was the 2016 OFQHA Youth Barrel Racing Champion and the 2016 OFQHA Youth Cutting Reserve Champion. Last year I was also awarded with the Best Sportsmanship of the horse program in the 2016 Richland County Junior Fair. Throughout my years of riding, I have also had the privilege of being the 2015 OFQHA Youth Barrel Racing Champion and the 2015 OFQHA Youth Boxing Champion. None of this would’ve happened without the support of my family. I am very blessed to have such supportive people by my side through it all. I look up to Fallon Taylor, because she shows me that hard work and dedication can get me anywhere. Fallon also teaches me how to embrace my “wild side”. My biggest goal for my future is to compete in the National Finals Rodeo. I am very proud of the person, and rider, that I have become. Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this!
