“My name is Hannah Riesterer. Four years ago I joined 4-h with my Quarter Pony, Prairie. With her I did pleasure and gymkhana. I didn’t compete seriously until I got my Quarter Horse, Lucy. Lucy and I have won many high point awards at local speed shows. Including winning high point out of 20 kids at a show a few months ago. When I was young, my dad told me I would never do barrel racing because it was too dangerous. I never thought I would accomplish this much.
About 2 months ago, I bought a four year old paint named TK Nellies Smoken Gun aka Kit. I started taking her to barrel races a few weeks after I bought her. At our first race we won 1st in the 4D and took home $27. I can’t wait until next year, when I can really start showing her seriously and pushing her more. She is already faster than my 13 year old QH. I try to go to at least 2 shows a month and I bring two of my horses to every show I go to. I love barrel racing and I LOVE my horses.”
