“Hi Lakota Team! An award I have earned with my trusty barrel horse is, The 2017 Coca Cola All Star Barrel Racing Champion. Another award I was given was Miss Congeniality for my Jr Posse Team. My posse team and I have won the county championship 4 years in a row. I also work with special needs kids at my jr high school.
A role model of mine is my mother, She is my #1 supporter and my best friend, I don’t know what I would do without her. She has always taught me that I should always listen to peoples advice, because not all of it will help me now but, it could help me or someone I know in the future. Another role model is my grandpa alan. I definitely could not be nearly the person or rider I am today. He is always there at practices, rodeos, barrel racers, and horse shows. Last but not least, my grandma wiltsie. She has taught me the meaning of strength, along with many other life lessons. I always looked forward to going to her house to visit so I could show her videos of my last run or the progress I was making with my 2 year old filly. She was my #1 role model. Unfortunately, she passed away on March 2nd, 2017. It has been a hard 9 months without her, but being without her I have learned so many lessons. And, I think about her constantly especially, when I’m on the horses. She never leaves my mind, but I want to excel especially because of her.
