BIO
I am so thankful to have gotten to grow up on a ranch in Southeastern Montana because it has given me the opportunity to be around horses ever since I could walk. At an early age, I helped my mom and grandma break and train performance horses to sell. Later, I became active in 4-H horse showing, and even won two state titles in Reining and Horsemanship. I am appreciative of the showing and training background because it has given me the foundation to be a much better horseman, which is essential no matter what kind of riding you are pursuing. As I started to grow up, however, I became more interested in the adrenaline rush I found in rodeo, and once I started I couldn’t stop. I was hooked! I am now a senior at Colstrip High School, and along with playing basketball during the winter, I compete in six out of seven high school rodeo events. Being active in Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, Goat Tying, Breakaway Roping, Reined Cow Horse, and Cutting keeps me very busy! Along with assistance from my outstanding parents, I have three incredible equine athletes that help me do what I do and that I am extremely grateful for. As of just this year, my “team”, as I call them, has lead me to be 5th in the MHSRA All-Around standings, (something I look to win at State Finals), as well as placing me top 10 in the state standings for 5 of 6 events, not to mention my past success-filled years. Horses, rodeo, and my family have taught me so much about hard work, being responsible, how to maintain a beneficial attitude in the face of adversity, as well as the importance of true commitment and so many other tools that will be carried with, and help me throughout my life. These lessons and opportunities I am extremely grateful for, and I wait with anticipation to see what my future holds in the horse and rodeo world!
