My name is Emma Holden and I have been riding horses sense I was the age of two. I have been competing in 4-H sense I was 5 years old from starting in Western pleasure, to Barrel Racing, to English and Dressage. During the past years in 4-H I’ve gone to 4-H state for Dressage and Barrel Racing. In 2015 I made it in the Top 5 for Speed N Action. Sense 2011 I’ve won 9 Grand Championships and two Reserve Championships at my local Fair. From 2012 to 2015 I’ve won Grand Champion at our local 4-H Horsemaster Show. I’ve also completed all 5 levels of the Horsemaster program and two levels of the Gymkhana program. I have been doing NBHA for the past 5 years and the past 3 years I have Qualified for NBHA World Championships. I was able to go in 2016 and it was wonderful expirence and I am planning to go to both Youth and Open NBHA championships this 2017. In 2016 I also went to Michigan NBHA State Finals in September where I made it back to the Short Go on both of my horses. At the State finals, my horse and I won a beautiful Gist buckle for the Target Race. The Target Race tracks your running times; whoever has the most consistent runs throughout the two day event, wins the Target Race. For the 2016 NBHA show season, I won the Fourth Division in Open Barrels and the Third Division in Youth Barrels. I also placed second in the Fifth Division in both Open and Youth Barrels. In addition to those placings, I placed tenth in the First Division, seventh in the Second Division, fifth in the Fourth Division in Youth and eighth in the Third Division in Open. These earnings helped me qualify for five slots, (5 horses), for the 2017 NBHA Youth World Championships and 2 slots, (2 horses), for the 2017 NBHA Open World Championships. I am happy to join the Lakota young professional program and to have such great support for this year’s show season.
