My equine career officially started at the age of two. Charmayne James was my biggest role model. I grew up within the rodeo circuit in Decatur Texas and I started out riding in the peewee poles and barrels. I participated in many playday series at the Wise County Sheriff’s Posse arena in Decatur when I wasn’t participating in rodeo. At the age of 7 I won my first NRS saddle along with the title of Wise County Sheriff’s Posse Rodeo Sweetheart. From here on pretty much all I ever did was rodeo, most girls wanted to play volleyball or softball but not me. I just wanted to ride. In 2010 I won the All Around Cowgirl in my 9-11 age group for our playday series, this was my second saddle. After winning the title Sweetheart I took a little break from queen competitions until I was 11. In order to be Rodeo Queen you have to be 13, so I had to go in front the Posse board of directors to get special permission. My permission was granted and I won the title of WCSP Rodeo Queen along with a nice 3 horse trailer. At the age of 14 I became an AQHA Lifetime member and an active NBHA member and my first year I qualified for the NBHA Youth World Championships in the 2D. Sadly I moved away from NBHA Texas 15 all the way out of state into NBHA Missouri 02 about 3/4 of the way into the season, but thankfully I had enough 2D points to carry me the rest of the way through the season. I won the 4D saddle and a few other smaller titles in my NBHA MO district along with three slots to Ride at Worlds again. By the time I was 15 I had won a grand total of over 60 buckles, 3 Saddles, 2 Queen Crowns, and a Horse trailer. 2017 will be my third year in a row to Compete in the NBHA Youth World Championships in the teen division. I qualified for four slots this year and plan to make it back to finals on at least 3.
