BIO

Hi, my name is Cheyenne Poyer and I’m from Farmington, NM. I am 17 years old and was born on August 24, 1999. I started riding competitively in 2011, and have been competing ever since. Over the course of 5 years, I have competed and placed in numerous barrel races and rodeos. I currently compete in BBR, NBHA, SWBRA, and the Arizona High School Rodeo Association. Some of my accomplishments include qualifying to the NBHA Youth World Championships in 2014- 2016, as well as qualifying for the International Indian Finals Rodeo in 2014. In addition, I was also the first person to win a year end saddle, and the “Rookie of the Year” in the NBHA NM 1 district. My most recent accomplishment is qualifying for the 2017 BBR World Championships. The bond I share with my mare, Dashin Sassy, isn’t like any other. She plays a big role in my life and I’m very grateful for her. My family bought a Lakota trailer in 2015, and we absolutely love it. The trailer suits everybody’s needs, and we couldn’t ask for any better. My role model is Fallon Taylor, she’s an incredible person who inspires me to set big goals and to never stop dreaming.
