BIO

My name is Carlee Shae Dumas. I was first on a horse at the ripe age of 3 with my parents assistance. I knew then that I wanted to be a barrel racer; not just any barrel racer, but a winning barrel racer. Over the course of the last 10 plus years with my horse Brick and a few others, I have competed and placed in (and often won) numerous 1D & 2D barrel races across the Southeast. I presently compete in barrel racing events under the jurisdiction of BBR, PCA, NBHA, and the Mississippi High School Rodeo Association. With many winnings over the years, I have been awarded numerous buckles, monetary certificates, and saddles. Some of my notable accomplishments are the following. I won both 2014 Mississippi 4H competitions on the district level and then on the state level which qualified me to compete at the 4H Regional event in Perry, GA where I made it all the way to the short go. In 2015, I was a NBHA Youth World Qualifier with Brick in 2D. Most recently in July 2016, I won the 1D competition at the Martha Josey Ranch in Karnack, TX and had the fastest qualifying time earlier in the same week.
My immediate plans are to continue my pursuit of the Mississippi State High School Rodeo barrel racing title with the expectation of competing at the National High School Rodeo Finals in Gilette, WY. Future goals are to be a barrel racer on the collegiate level. The ultimate goal is be a professional and ride against my role model, Jackie Ganter, in the NFR. I am DRIVEN and I am unwavering with making all of my dreams come true!
