My mare and I run NBHA and ibra. I got her in November 2015 and all she knew was how to accept a saddle and walk and trot. She would trot all day long. She didn’t like loping and would buck and kick out as soon as she was asked to lope. She got over that vice eventually. Then I taught her how to neck rein and some other things then eventually I started barrel racing with her May 1st, 2016. I stared slow and her first NBHA show she placed 1st in the 4D and 6th in the 3D barrels. Then the more I took her to barrel races the better she did! We went to NBHA state and she placed in every run but one and made it to the finals in both youth barrels and open barrels. We ended up placing 5th in 3D youth barrels in the finals and 3rd in 5D open barrels. That was in September when she was on the pattern for 4 months. We ended the 2016 NBHA season 3rd in the 4D over all and qualified us for Youth Worlds in Perry, Georgia in July. We just went to our first 2017 show this weekend after 2 months off the pattern and she placed consistently in the 2D. She won the 2D on Saturday as well as Sunday. Sunday she won the 2D youth and Saturday she won the 2D open 2nd go. We will be going to State NBHA, State IBRA, Worlds, and possibly IBRA Nationals if we qualify but as of right now we are leading the 2D open and youth
