BIO

My name is Abby Sturn. I am 14 years old and was born March 6, 2002. I have been competing in gymkhanas since I was 5 years old and began competing in junior rodeo when I was 10 years old. A few of my accomplishments include Extreme Speed 1D Barrel Racing Champion in 2006, TMRA Jr Rodeo Association Reserve Champion Barrel Racer in 2015, and TMRA Jr Rodeo Association Champion Girls Steer Rider in 2016. My passion is rodeo and riding my horses, Pistol and Mustang. Pistol is an AQHA Quarter Horse mare who I just began competing on in 2016. Mustang is a 6 year old mustang mare from the BLM who I have been riding for the past two years and have competed on her in Jr Rodeo, Jackpot Barrel Races, and gymkhana. My goal is to further my barrel racing career as well as my steer riding career to ultimately compete in bull riding. My role model is Maggie Parker; a woman bull rider who competes in the men’s category. Like me, Maggie will not let anything get in the way of her chasing her dreams and accomplishing her goals.
